Monthly Meditation Group

Join us every second Wednesday of the month as we learn the simplest methods to ease stress and find peace in our daily, and usually, tense lives.

Meditation and mindfulness as practiced through sitting, calm abiding meditation and contemplation, may be studied as a way to enhance our understanding of our own minds and to develop an open understanding of how we create happiness and how we create suffering in our own lives. Also through these practices, we learn to gently train one's self to respond with kindness and compassion toward ourselves and others.

This group is open to anyone who is interested, whether you are new to meditation or have been practicing for years. Our topics of discussion are applicable to any level or experience and the sitting, calm abiding meditation in this group setting is beneficial to everyone.

Mindful Awareness for Children and Their Parents:

In this four week course children and their parents are taught the basic practices of mindful awareness. The focus of this class is to develop an awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and awareness of the things that are around us and happening in the moment. An emerging body of research has indicated that mindfulness can help children to calm, improve their attention, improve personal emotional awareness, and help them to make better decisions. Research also indicates these same outcomes with adults. In this course, children and their parents can learn together how to develop, easy to learn, daily practices to increase wellness for all members of the family.

I have been practicing and studying yoga since 2005 and started sharing the practice in 2011. I have had unique trainings including a 200hr basic certification course through h3 yoga, a 200hr Yoga Therapies course through Paramanand Ashram in Indore India, and a 900hr course at The Yoga Institute in Mumbai India. I have also participated in Kripalu’s Karma Yoga program, Living at the yoga educational center and helping with programming for 8 months. The Agama Institute in the south of Thailand was also a place of great transformation and learning where I lived and studied for a month intensive program.  Each of these places along with many other wonderful teachers,

has helped shape my practice and teachings.

I hope to be able to pass along the benefits of

and the wisdom that is yoga.
